Thursday - Day 4
By: Charlie & Kelly Temple
I recently traveled to Austria and was blessed to ski in the Austrian Alps. Looking around at the 360 view and observing the amazing creation surrounding me, made me pause and quietly examine a flaw in my personality. I tend to be a skeptic. With such breathtaking landscape on all sides, how could I possibly be skeptical. I know the creator of all this splendor, and I know that everything is created by him. However, not everything or everyone has such beauty. Does this mean that I should disregard these things and people? As Christians we are charged with having an open heart for each and every circumstance. Whether it be the most beautiful site, or the most devastating news, we are to be in prayer. God has a purpose for every situation and if you can't make sense of it at the time, you have to go deeper into prayer. The reason will be revealed in his time. 1 John 5:14 says, "That if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us" -- Psalm 37:7 -- "Be still in the presence of the Lord and wait patiently for him to act....."
Whether you are praising our Lord for something beautiful or questioning a trial---be still and listen.
