History
Grace Capital Church didn’t happen overnight!
Eleven years ago, Peter and Lisa Bonanno felt a call from God to plant a new church in the capital region of New Hampshire. They moved from Massachusetts, serving as associate pastor at Metro West Worship Center to pursue this new spiritual venture. After consulting with leadership and friends, they connected with the Foursquare denomination to start the church.
What followed were months of grass-roots relationship building and the releasing of the vision to “Impact the Capital Region with the Father’s love…” It started in a living room with 12 others (including kids) and continues with the relational focus where the life of the church is in small home groups known as cells. That first cell has become over thirty. And that first Sunday celebration service has become two and is growing to include multiple campuses.
The first few years of GCC, we met at an Elementary school in Concord, where we quickly outgrew and needed more space. In September of 2000, Grace Capital Church moved to the Pembroke Academy to position itself for more growth. Then the congregation was able to purchase land in Pembroke where they recently moved into a new building. On Sunday, July 18, 2004 Grace Capital Church celebrated their first service in the new facility. The members of Grace Capital Church look forward to the purposes of the building- to Celebrate, Serve & Send. These three values will permeate all that is done at Grace Capital Church. Celebrating what God is doing in our lives, Serve each other in love and Send workers out into the harvest fields to fulfill the Great Commission.
Grace Capital planted its first daughter church in the Lakes Region in 2002. This was just the start of more releasing and sending. In addition to church planting, in 2005 they sent Foursquare missionaries to Quebec,Canada. In the Spring of 2006, Grace Capital launched it’s first alternate campus in Hooksett, NH. This Hooksett body is now a vibrant and fruitful church plant named CrossPoint. In addition to all this, GCC has been recognized by it’s denomination as a resource church by appointing pastor Peter Bonanno as the District Supervisor of Northern New England Foursquare. The history of Grace Capital Church is very young yet very ambitious. We are partners with other churches and other Christians to make an impact in this region for Jesus.
